El Dorado Lake

Located just northeast of El Dorado Kansas, this lake is known for its abundance of fish including catfish, rainbow trout and many more. While the lake is great for fishing, it also has plenty of other wildlife as well including beavers, bobcats, coyotes, deers and turkeys. Don't let all these animals scare you off though because what El Dorado Lake is mainly known for is boating and there are boat ramps and even a marina to handle all your boating needs.

Wilson Lake

Another very popular lake that just happens to be very close to I-70 is Wilson Lake, considered by many to be the most beautiful in the state. Wilson Lake offers scenic views of cliffs and rocky outcroppings and the park surrounding the lake provides great photographic opportunities. While the lake is a great boating spot, the park also contains a 25.5 mile long Switchgrass Bike trail that is popular with mountain bikers.

Turtle Creek Lake

One of the largest lakes in Kansas, the possibilites at Turtle Creek Lake are endless. Attracting over 2 million guests a year, it is a great spot for people who like to socialize and be around others. There are many things to do and the park provides canoe, kayak, and paddleboat rentals. Amenities include electric and water hookups, a swimming beach, boat ramps, courtesy docks, and dump stations. Turtle Creek has something for everyone and you may even spot one of the many different types of wildlife while you're there.
